Whitby offers a number of great locations for First Time Buyers. The 9 subdivision above all have unique characteristics and housing types to suit all your first time needs.


Whitby Shores is a more established neighbourhood with modern houses located north of Lake Ontario and south of the 401. Price ranges are quite mature in Whitby Shores, but it offer a variety of homes for sale. You can find everything from large detached houses, to semi detached and townhouses to the three condominium buildings located right across from the Whitby Marina and GO-Train station. Location is a luxury as you are walking distance to the Go-Train and seconds from 401 exits, perfect for commuters.


Downtown Whitby is a very popular neighbourhood for first time buyers. Just like Whitby Shores the Downtown strip is very close the the Whitby GO-Train station, and 401 ramp. It also offers a great socialite lifestyle with trendy shops, spas, restaurants, pubs, future breweries and a busy nightlife. Housing types in Downtown Whitby include everything from unique century homes to newer detached homes.

 

Pringle Creek has a great mix of detached, semi detached, townhouses and condo buildings available to first time buyers above the $350,000 price range. Pringle Creek is a mature area with the Brock and Taunton intersection very close by. It offers all types of restaurants, Wal Mart, Lowblaws Superstore, Beer Store, LCBO coffee shops, pubs and more.


Brooklin is known for being a high demand family neighbourhood with housing prices on the rise. Everything from entry level townhouses, to Million Dollar family homes can be found. Brooklin offers a brand new highschool, and Two 407 exits on the new 407 extention. New restaurants, pubs, shops, retails outlets and groceries stores make Brooklin a top consideration for many family looking to grow.


Lynde Creek is Downtown Whitby's next door neighbour. It has the advantage of everything Downtown Whitby has to offer within walking distance, as well as being a little further West for commuters to the GTA. Lynde Creek is an older community in Whitby with many bungalows and smaller starter homes that can be had for reasonable price points.

 

Taunton North is a newer subdivision with a mix of detached, semi-detached and townhouses. It's also located right at the Brock and Taunton subdivision and has the perks of the many restaurants, big box stores such as Wal Mart, Lowblaws Superstore, Beer Store, LCBO, as well as coffee shops, pubs and more. Taunton North is located just south of Brooklin, and will have access to the 407 extension that will be extending to the Hwy 115.


Rolling Acres is located in the north-east section of urban Whitby. It too is close to the Brock and Taunton intersection, but it is an older more mature area of Whitby. The price of detached houses in Whitby make it a location that is sought after by not only mature families, but first time buyers as well.


Williamsburg is an in demand community in north-west Whitby. It to is close to the Brock and Taunton intersection, and offers townhouses as well as detached family homes. Williamsburg has its commuting advantages as it is in-between highway 401 as well as Highway 407 and offers a central location for commuters using either avenue.

 

Blue Grass Meadows is a neighbourhood in south-western Whitby just North of the Highway 401 Thickson Rd exit. It is an older more mature neighbourhood, but proves to be an excellent location as it is a short distance to the Whitby mall at Thickson and Highway 2, as well as just around the corner from the Landmark Theatre plaza. You will find restaurants offering everything from ribs to sushi, as well as fitness clubs, a state of the art movie theatres, kids play places and indoor mini golf.
